CARTA DE APRESENTAÇÃOPRESENTATIONLETTER

2019 was a year of expansion for CEBRI. We were represented in forums in 20 countries, expanding partnerships and projects with think tanks and international institutions.

According to the 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, for the first time, CEBRI is ranked 2nd think tank in South and Central America. The Report is based on a survey conducted by the University of Pennsylvania that reviews over eight thousand think tanks worldwide. We also hold leadership positions in 8 categories in the region, including environment policy, defense and national security, and transparency and good governance.

We hosted the 1st Brazilian think tanks’ meeting at our headquarters, bringing together over twenty institutions to encourage closer interaction and exchange on our common challenges.

We welcomed 20 new companies into our membership base, which for the first time in our history, includes over 100 members. The volume of projects we deliver in partnership with our members reflects their engagement and trust in our performance. Currently, 70% of the funding for CEBRI’s projects corresponds to initiatives carried out with member institutions.

We network to structure the best delivery of debates and public policy propositions to society. As you will see in the following pages, CEBRI is positioned in a complex web of stakeholders. We mobilize and integrate economic sectors, public institutions, think tanks and governments, as well as academics, liberal professionals, consultants and students.

Integrating is the only way out of a fragmented world. In 2020, our challenge is to shape CEBRI to be more integrated into the digital universe, with the launch of CEBRI Online.

We appreciate the support of our members, partners, funders, trustees, and fellows, as well as the team’s efforts, which contribute in the most diverse ways to the accomplishment of our mission.

2019 foi um ano de expansão para o CEBRI. Estive-mos representados em fóruns em 20 países, am-pliando parcerias e projetos com think tanks e ins-tituições internacionais.

Pela primeira vez, nos tornamos o 2º think tank da América do Sul e Central, conforme o levantamen-to 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, da Universidade da Pensilvânia, contemplando mais de oito mil think tanks no mundo. Ocupamos, ainda, po-sições de liderança em 8 categorias na região, como política ambiental, defesa e segurança nacional e transparência e boa governança.

Realizamos no CEBRI o 1º encontro de think tanks brasileiros, reunindo cerca de vinte instituições, como forma de estimular maior integração e trocas sobre nossos desafios comuns.

Demos as boas-vindas a 20 novas empresas em nosso quadro de associados e, pela primeira vez em nossa história, alcançamos o patamar de mais de 100 membros. O engajamento e confiança de nossos associados em nossa atuação pode ser traduzida no volume de projetos que realizamos em parceria. Atualmente, 70% do funding de projetos do CEBRI corresponde a iniciativas realizadas com institui-ções associadas.

Trabalhamos em rede para estruturar a melhor en-trega para a sociedade, em debates e na proposição de políticas públicas. Como verão nas próximas pá-ginas, o CEBRI se posiciona em uma complexa teia de stakeholders. Mobilizamos e integramos setores produtivos, instituições públicas, think tanks e go-vernos, assim como acadêmicos, profissionais libe-rais, consultores e estudantes.

Integrar é a única saída para um mundo em frag-mentação. Em 2020, nosso desafio é moldar um CEBRI mais integrado ao universo digital, com o lançamento do CEBRI Online.

No ano passado, o CEBRI ampliou suas interações com think tanks nacionais e internacionais e promoveu o 1o Encontro de Think Tanks Brasileiros, estabelecendo as bases para a criação de uma rede de think tanks nacionais, voltada ao diálogo e troca sobre desafios comuns. No campo internacional, esteve presente em fóruns qualificados em todos os continentes, levando sua experiência e, sobretudo, aprendendo.

Last year, CEBRI expanded its interactions with national and international think tanks and promoted the 1st Brazilian Think Tanks’ Meeting, establishing the basis for the creation of a network of Brazilian think tanks focused on dialogue and exchanges about their common challenges. In the international arena, CEBRI was present in qualified forums on all continents, imparting its experience and, most of all, learning.

SOBRE O CEBRIABOUT CEBRI

O Centro Brasileiro de Relações Internacionais (CEBRI) é um think tank independente, que contribui para a construção da agenda internacional do Brasil. Há mais de vinte anos, a instituição se dedica à promoção do debate plural e propositivo sobre o cenário internacional e a política externa brasileira.

O CEBRI prioriza em seus trabalhos temáticas de maior potencial para alavancar a inserção internacional do país à economia global, propondo soluções pragmáticas na formulação de políticas públicas.

É uma instituição sem fins lucrativos, com sede no Rio de Janeiro e reconhecida internacionalmente. Hoje, reúne cerca de 100 associados, que representam múltiplos interesses e segmentos econômicos e mobiliza uma rede de profissionais e organizações no mundo todo. Além disso, conta com um Conselho Curador atuante e formado por figuras proeminentes na sociedade brasileira.

The Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) is an independent think tank that contributes to building an international agenda for Brazil. For over twenty years, the institution has dedicated itself in promoting a pluralistic and proposal-oriented debate on the international landscape and Brazilian foreign policy.

In its activities, CEBRI prioritizes themes with the greatest potential to leverage the country’s international insertion into the global economy, proposing pragmatic solutions for the formulation of public policies.

It is an internationally recognized non-profit organization, head-quartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Today, it gathers around 100 members that represent diverse interests and economic sectors, and it mobilizes a worldwide network of professionals and organizations. Moreover, CEBRI has an active Board of Trustees composed of prominent members of Brazilian society.
