Trabalho apresentado em eventos científicos na forma oral.
A apresentação é definida pelo “discurso” do palestrante.
Os recursos audiovisuais servem de apoio à apresentação oral.
O tempo da apresentação é limitado pelo formato do evento.
15 minutos (comunicação rápida à seção)30 minutos (palestra temática de seção)60 minutos (plenária ao evento)
A interação com a audiência é realizada ao final da apresentação.

O trabalho é apresentado “ao vivo”:
a audiência pode não ser muito amistosa;
pode ser difícil para o apresentador perceber e corrigir um erro;
permite adaptações em tempo real em função da audiência;
a audiência não pode “rever” a apresentação.
O feedback da apresentação é imediato: positivo ou negativo.
A comunicação oral não é uma aula como numa disciplina regular.
