O Presidente da República, José Eduardo dos Santos, rendeu homenagem no dia 18 de Novembro de 2014, em Luanda, ao nacionalista Afonso Domingos Pedro Van-Dúnem "Mbinda", falecido no passado dia 14 de Novembro de 2014, nesta capital, vítima de doença. Na Assembleia Nacional, onde decorrem as exéquias, o Chefe de Estado, acompanhado da primeira dama da República, Ana Paula dos Santos, depois da entoação do Hino Nacional, seguido de um minuto de silêncio, inclinou-se diante da urna do malogrado, gesto que simbolizou, assim, a sua última homenagem ao nacionalista.De seguida, José Eduardo dos Santos transmitiu à viúva, filhos e demais familiares os seus sentimentos de pesar.Afonso Van-Dúnem, de fortes e grandes convicções, contava 73 anos de idade, inteiramente dedicados a causa do Povo angolano, tendo ingressado nas fileiras do MPLA em 1961, aos 20 anos de idade .

Durante a luta de libertação nacional, participou na Conferência Nacional do Movimento, em Léopoldville (actual Kinshasa, República Democrática do Congo), em 1962, foi representante do MPLA em Lusaka, República da Zâmbia, e secretário particular do Presidente da formação polírtica, que viria tornar-se fundador da Nação, António Agostinho Neto.Posteriormente, já na Angola independente, Afonso Van-Dúnem “Mbinda” ocupou, sucessivamente, os cargos de director do gabinete do Presidente Agostinho Neto, comissário (governador) provincial de Luanda, ministro das Relações Exteriores, embaixador na ONU e, após as Eleições Gerais de 2012, deputado à Assembleia Nacional, funções que suspendeu recentemente, por incompatibilidade.Renderam igualmente homenagem ao falecido, que foi enterrado no dia 18 de Novembro no cemitério Alto das Cruzes, nesta capital, membros dos órgãos de Soberania da República, deputados, membros do Executivo, das Forças Armadas Angolanas e da Polícia Nacional, dirigentes dos partidos

Afonso Van-Dúnem "M'Binda" nasceu em Luanda, em 7 de Setembro de 1941. Começou a carreira política em 1960 e serviu, até 1972, como representante do MPLA na Zâmbia, além de coordenador de Relações Exteriores do MPLA na República Unida da Tanzânia.Em 1977, foi eleito membro do Comité Central, durante o Primeiro Congresso do MPLA, assumindo no ano seguinte o secretariado para a Informação do partido e posteriormente o sector de Relações Exteriores. Afonso Van-Dúnem foi eleito deputado à Assembleia do Povo (parlamento), em 1980.De 1985 a 1989, ocupou-se da pasta das Relações Esteriores, no Governo da então República Popular de Angola, depois de José Eduardo dos Santos e Paulo Teixeira Jorge, respectivamente.Foi igualmente representante permanente de Angola junto da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU).Afonso Domingos Pedro Van-Dúnem “Mbinda”, casado e pai de cinco filhos, era, até a data da sua morte, presidente da Fundação Sagrada Esperança.

Afonso Van-Dúnem "M'Binda" was born in Luanda on 7th September 1941.He started his political career in 1960 and served until 1972 as MPLA representative to Zambia, in addition to coordinating the Movement's external relations in Tanzania.In 1977, he was elected MPLA Central Committee member during the Movement's 1st Congress, before he was appointed information secretary the next year and responsible for external relations.Afonso Van-Dúnem was elected a People's Assembly MP in 1980.From 1985 to 1989, he held the post of Foreign Minister under the Government of the then People's Republic of Angola, after José Eduardo dos Santos and Paulo Teixeira Jorge.He also represented the country as Angola's permanent representative to the United Nations Organisation.

The minister was speaking at a ceremony marking the "Angolan Diplomat’s Day", on 12th November.The top diplomat mentioned the country's experience that contributed to more efficient identification of the causes of conflict and the elimination of violence through preventive diplomacy.The minister also referred to the promotion of 2063 African agenda and contribution to the achievement of peace and security on the continent and elsewhere in the world.According to him, all these steps led to the country’s election as the Non Permanent Member of the UN Security Council, held in October this year.

This is the second time the country was elected for a two-year term (2015-2016), after the first held in 2002.Georges Chikoti reiterated the Angolan Government commitment to continue to support the UN work and initiatives of the regional organisations in the fight against organised and transnational crime and international terrorism.The official also stressed his government availability to strengthening the international mechanisms for the prevention and mediation of conflict.According to the minister, the resignation to war is a strategy that puts the country, in its experience, as a nation, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts, as a "hub of Diplomacy in Africa".The minister added that the adoption of peace diplomacy, through the mechanism of prevention and resolution of conflicts, under dialogue and promoting bilateral cooperation based on the principles of equality, mutual benefits and respect for sovereignty in the sectors of the real economy, aims to support the diversification strategy of the national economy.Speaking of development of diplomacy of peace, the minister said that the Government is aware that wars do not address the people's problems, not event generate developments, or build democracy and respect for human rights".

he Republic of Angola was elected on 21st November 2014, for the third time, as vice chair of the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Vienna Convention and the 26th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol, which happened in Paris, France. Representing the African continent, Angola’s election happens in the ambit of the works of the gathering, in which Angola is being represented by the secretary of State for New Technologies and Environmental Quality, Syanga Abílio, according to a note that reached ANGOP.


Angola had been elected to the 23rd meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol in November 2011, in Bali, Indonesia, and in the following year in Geneva, Switzerland, the country chaired the top level seminar on the Ozone Layer Depleting Substances, also in representation of the African continent.In his intervention,on 21st November 2015, secretary of State Syanga Abílio mentioned the works that have been done in the ambit of the implementation of the National Programme on the Consumption of Ozone Layer Depleting Substances, having highlighted that this was backed by the Presidential Executive Order number 153/11.This Executive Order outlines the rules for the production, export, re-export and import of equipment and apparatuses which have substances that can deplete the Ozone layer.The training of new technicians in refrigeration and air-conditioning techniques in order to avoid emissions of refrigerant gases into the atmosphere, the training in the identification of the equipment and substances entering Angola, implementation of the national project of the removal of replacement of the fluids, as well as the implementation of public-private awareness on the importance of elimination of such gases, were, among others, issues highlighted by the secretary of the Angolan State.During this event was presented the proposal of the United States, Mexico and Canada on the introduction of the Fifth Amendment to the Montreal Protoco, for the gradual elimination of the substance Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).The Conference could not reach consensus, having argued the developing countries that their economies are not prepared for the replacement.However, according to the document, the European Community agreed with the United States, Mexico and Canada, and announced the preparation of one Amendment at the next meeting of the Parties for the elimination of HFCs, thus contributing to the global effort of Climate Change.Developing countries, once again, requested, in this event, the strengthening of the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol, now estimated in 3.8 billion dollars to fund scientific work and programs of the signatory States.The scientific group linked to the Montreal Protocol presented technical works during the conference, having concluded that, with the implementation of the Montreal Protocol, there were positive results for the gradual restoration of the ozone layer, although there is still much work to do in the future under this Protocol.

O Ministério das Pescas realizou de 27 a 30 de Novembro a primeira edição da Feira Internacional das Pescas e da Aquicultura que decorreu nas instalações da Feira Internacional de Luanda (FILDA) com pelo menos 50 empresas nacionais e estrangeiras. O elenco do Elinga consegue esta façanha, apresentado um espectáculo simples, legível e interactivo.

Imaginação angolana

Mas trazer com elegância ao público o comportamento e imaginação angolanos foi um detalhe primoroso. O sotaque e adaptação dos nomes fizeram toda a diferença. Não diminuiu a trama, ajustou-a a um público que se reviu nos hábitos e que apreendeu as possíveis dicotomias da relação entre médico e paciente. Os personagens (com Antónia a acertar categoricamente na expressão de termos correntes do dia-a-dia) mantiveram um à-vontade, além de seguirem uma indumentária bem à moda africana. A peça inicia com a encenação sobre a preparação de um espectáculo. Em palco os actores tentam acertar os últimos detalhes e procuram ganhar alguma concentração. Preparam-se para actuar “O doente imaginário”. É construída à volta da doença de Argon e sua percepção das ideias e sobre as pessoas que o rodeiam. O clímax é constituído quando Argon, por sugestão de Antónia, finge de morto e consegue perceber quem de facto o toma com sentimentos de fraternidade e zelo, ressalvando assim uma

crítica a alguns vícios baixos de uma sociedade onde coabitam alguns hipócritas. O seu desfecho hilariante é algo surreal, em que os actores montam em cena um grupo de gente que retiram da plateia para assistir a outorga e diploma de médico a Argon, o doente, que balbucia em tom zombeteiro alguns trechos de uma língua identificada como latim, para riso aberto da plateia.

Elinga Theatre: Molière brought with Angolan imagination

The Elinga Theatre debuted on 23rd October the play "Rehearsing Molière," an adaptation of the prestigious piece "The Imaginary Invalid", written by the famous French author Jean-Baptiste Poquelin "Molière".On stage were Claudia Pucuta that interprets the important maid Antonia (nosy woman who repeatedly looks for ways to torment the weak Argon and who positiones herself in favour of his daughter´s romantic wedding ); Virgilío António plays Argon, the Imaginary Invalid (the

hypochondriac who imposes that the daughter should marry a well positioned doctor); Honório Afonso interprets the characters Good Faith (lawyer and lover of Argon´s woman) and Dr. Disafouros (a distinguished doctor); Madalena António (Zady) plays Belinha (young Argon´s wife, who plays low sins of lust, betrayal, hypocrisy and usurpation); Emilio Lucombo plays Cleon (boyfriend of Argon’s daughter) and Beralda (Argon’s brother who tries to convince him that the right thing would be if the daughter married for love), two characters of strong romantic tenure; Efigénia da Silva-who plays the romantic Angelica and the paltry Dr. Syringe (daughter of Argon); José Inácio who plays the affected Thomas Disafouros (the one chosen to marry the daughter of Argon) and the Purgan Doctor (Doctor who lives feeding Argon’s addiction to the doctors).The play focuses on the home of the wealthy Argon, a man of a certain age who, of being so dependent on doctors, decides to reverse the roles and question the truth of these, i.e, whether he is or he is not sick. He is assisted by Antonia in this endeavor, always making fun of old man’s disease and making environments of laughter that give to the piece a mixed state of satire and comedy, with no intention of drama or tragedy. The Elinga made it and presented a simple, readable and interactive show.

The Angolan imagination

But to bring with elegance to the public behavior and Angolan imagination was an exquisite detail. The accent and adaptation of the names made all the difference. It didn’t diminish the plot, it set it to a public that has mirrored itself in the habits and that seized the possible dichotomies of the relationship between doctor and patient. The characters (with Antonia to get it categorically in the expression of current terms of the day-to-day) had an ease, and followed an African fashion. The play begins with the staging on the preparation of a show. On stage the actors try to get the details and try to get some concentration. They prepare to play "The Imaginary Invalid”. It is built around the Argon's disease and his perception of the ideas and the people around him. The climax happen when Argon, at the suggestion of Antonia, plays dead and can see who actually has for him feelings of brotherhood and zeal, criticizing some low vices of a society where coexist some hypocrites. It’s hilarious outcome is something surreal, in which the actors make on the stage a group of people from the the audience to watch the medical degree of Argon, the patient, who mumbles mockingly some parts of a language identified as Latin, while the audience laughs.

A obra "Mayombe", de autoria do escritor angolano Artur Pestana "Pepetela", na versão italiana, foi colocada ao dispor do público, em cerimónia decorrida na noite de 18 de Novembro de 2014, em Luanda. A publicação da versão italiana ocorreu por altura de uma conferência literária, em alusão a 14° temporada da semana da língua italiana no mundo, sob os auspícios da embaixada de Itália em Angola.Ao fazer a apresentação do livro, o escritor Carmo Cunga disse que o lugar de “Mayombe” entre as chamadas obras clássicas da literatura nacional angolana é inquestionável, cujo uso do conceito de clássico deve ser entendido como equivalente a obra de referência. Segundo o também secretário geral da União dos Escritores Angolanos (UEA), uma das justificações para esta qualificação tem a ver com o facto de “Mayombe” resistir ao tempo, onde o contexto em que o escritor criou a obra, a temática e o espaço em que se desencadeiam as acções têm a ver com a significação que as diferentes leituras sugerem. Referiu que a relação entre o espaço e as acções dos protagonistas leva um leitor a aproximar o universo de ficção criado por Pepetela do espaço físico e real onde se iniciaram as primeiras actividades clandestinas dos nacionalistas angolanos.O romance “Mayombe” retrata as vidas e os pensamentos de um grupo de guerrilheiros durante aquela guerra. O romance retrata a vida guerrilheira do autor nos anos 70, e funciona em dois níveis; um em que se exploram os pensamentos e as dúvidas dos personagens, e um outro que se ilustram as acções dos guerrilheiros.O primeiro romance do Pepetela foi publicado em 1972, com o título As Aventuras de Ngunga. Foi uma obra literária que ele escreveu para um público pequeno de universitários. Na obra, Pepetela analisa o crescimento revolucionário de Ngunga, um jovem guerrilheiro do MPLA, usando um tom épico e didáctico. O romance introduz o leitor aos costumes, à geografia e à psicologia de Angola. Pepetela cria um diálogo entre a tradição angolana e ideologia revolucionária, debatendo quais tradições devem ser alimentadas, e quais devem ser alteradas. As Aventuras… é um romance que exemplifica a carreira iniciante de Pepetela, manifestando um amor profundo por Angola, um desejo de examinar a história e a cultura do país, um espírito revolucionário, e um tom didáctico. time of a literary conference, referring to a 14th season of the week of the Italian language in the world, under the auspices of the Italian Embassy in Angola.While launching the book, the writer Carmo Cunga said that the place of "Mayombe” is among classical works of the Angolan national literature unquestionably, whose use of the classic concept must be understood as the equivalent of the work of reference. According to the also general secretary of the Angolan Writers Union (UEA), one of the justifications for this qualification has to do with the fact that "Mayombe" resists to the time, where the context in which the writer created the work, theme and space in which actions happen have to do with the meaning that different readings suggest. He said that the relationship between space and the actions of the protagonists takes a reader to approach the universe of fiction created by Pepetela to the physical and real space where started the first clandestine activities of the Angolan nationalists.The novel "Mayombe" portrays the lives and thoughts of a group of guerrillas during that war. The novel portrays the guerrilla life of the author in the 70s, and it works on two levels; one in which explore the thoughts and doubts of the characters, and another that illustrate the actions of the guerrillas.The first novel of Pepetela was published in 1972, entitled The Adventures of Ngunga. It was a literary work he wrote for a small public university. In the work, Pepetela analyzes the revolutionary growth of Ngunga, a young guerrilla from MPLA, using an epic and didactic tone. The novel introduces the reader to the customs, geography and psychology of Angola. Pepetela creates a dialogue between the Angolan tradition and revolutionary ideology, debating traditions which must conserved, and those which should be changed. The Adventures ... is a novel that exemplifies the beginner’s career of Pepetela, expressing a deep love for Angola, a desire to examine the history and culture of the country, a revolutionary spirit, and a didactic tone. The novel is also interesting because it was written and published while the author fought against the Portuguese on the Eastern Front.

Enaltecido Prémio Nacional de Cultura e Artes

Artistas plásticos, músicos e actores enalteceram no dia 10 de Novembro de 2014 em Luanda, a iniciativa do Ministério da Cultura em promover o Prémio Nacional de Cultura e Artes, pelo facto de contribuir para o engrandecimento da cultura nacional. Em declarações à Angop, à margem da gala de premiação do referido evento, os fazedores de cultura afirmaram que iniciativas como estas enaltecem o artista no que toca à criação e à investigação.De acordo com o representante da Companhia Enigma Teatro, Tony Frampeneo, o Prémio Nacional de Cultura e Artes tem estado a permitir aos grupos escreverem peças com mais qualidade e responsabilidade.Por sua vez, o músico Gabriel Tchiema disse que esta actividade tem contribuído bastante na promoção da música e dos músicos angolanos, pois promove, valoriza e incentiva os artistas no desenvolvimento da cultura nacional.Para o artista plástico João Mabuaka, este evento tem contribuído significativamente na valorização e no progresso da arte no país.O escritor Albino Carlos disse que o prémio nacional de Cultura e Artes é de maior incentivo no resgate de valores culturais, cívico e morais.

The National Prize of Culture and Arts praised

Com a obra "Mungole", que traduz o mais alto nível de investigação e cuidados na elaboração artística e cultural da música onde integra elementos pedagógicos da tradição oral, centrados na cultura Cokwe, mesmo que por vezes com recurso ao de outras comunidades sócio-culturais angolanas, o músico Gabriel Tchiema venceu o Prémio Nacional de Cultura e Artes 2014, na categoria de música.Nas demais categorias foram distinguidos, em Artes Plásticas, João Mabuaka, Companhia Enigma Teatro, em Teatro, Albino Carlos, em Literatura, enquanto o Grupo de Dança Tradicional Katyavala do Bailundo, ganhou na disciplina de Dança.No Cinema e Audiovisual foi atribuído a Asdrúbel Rebelo da Silva pelo conjunto da sua obra, produzida de que se ressaltam Levanta, Voa e Vamos, Escrever a Vida e a Série Valeu, e na categoria de e Investigação em Ciências Humanas e Sociais o prémio coube ao Centro de Estudos do Deserto (CEDO).
