IntroductionThe Vetus cooling water strainers model330 are equipped with a transparant lid,inspection therefore, can be carried outwithout opening of the strainer.Due to the large active surface the strainerseldom needs to be cleaned.In a standard installation situation (see‘Installation examples’, drwg 1) the capacityis as per technical data, the capacitydepends of the diameter of the hose con-nection.
Parallel connectionBy connection of 2 water strainers in paral-lel (see ‘Installation examples, drwg 2) alarger capacity can be obtained, see‘Technical data’.By connection of 2 water strainers in paral-lel with the use of 2 extra valves (see‘Installation examples, drwg 3) it is possible,while the engine is running, to clean eachfilter separately.
InstallationInstall the water strainer always above thewaterline. Mount the strainer against a verti-cal bulkhead.Install always a sea-cock on the water inlet
scoop!Use for both connections, water scoop tostrainer and strainer to engine, always flexi-ble hose.Use only water and/or soap to ease fittingthe hoses to the hose pillars and neverproducts containing grease or oil.Fit each hose connection with 2 stainlesssteel hose clamps.
Use and maintenanceInspect the strainer element regularly forcontaminents.N.B. The lid doesn’t need to be removed forinspection.Clean the strainer element if dirt has accu-mulated. Close the seacock beforeunscrewing the lid of the water strainer, seedrwg 4. Remove the strainer element out ofthe housing and flush the strainer with cleanwater. Re-install the strainer element,grease the O-ring and the thread with e.g.silicone oil or teflon based spray, see drwg6, and reinstall the lid.N.B. Secure or loosen the lid always manu-ally. Never use tools for this purpose, seedrwg 4 and 5.Check the seal between lid and housingafter cleaning and re-assembling the strain-

Introdução
O modelo de filtro de água de resfriamento Vetus 140 está equipado com uma cobertura transparente, de modo que a inspeção pode ser realizada sem abrir o filtro.Por causa da grande superfície ativa, o filtro raramente precisa ser limpo.Em uma situação de instalação padrão (ver 'Exemplos de instalação', desenho 1) a capacidade é de acordo com os dados técnicos, a capacidade depende do diâmetro da conexão da mangueira.
Instalação
Instale o filtro de água sempre acima da linha de água. Monte o filtro contra uma antepara vertical.Instale sempre uma válvula na entrada de água

Use para conexões, do casco ao filtro e do filtro ao motor mangueiras flexíveisl.Use apenas água e / ou sabão para facilitar o encaixe das mangueiras nos encaixes e nunca produtos que contenham graxa ou óleo.Montar cada conexão de mangueira com 2 braçadeiras de aço inoxidável.
Uso e manutenção
Inspecione o elemento filtrante regularmente para detectar contaminantes.NOTA: A tampa não precisa ser removida para a inspeção.Limpe o elemento do filtro se a sujeira for acumulada. Feche a válvula antes de abrir a tampa do filtro de água, veja desenho 2. Retire o elemento do filtro da caixa e lave o filtro com água limpa. Reinstale o elemento filtrante, lubrifique o O-ring com, por exemplo, Óleo de silicone ou spray à base de teflon, ver desenho 6 e reinstale a tampa.NOTA: Proteja ou afrouxe a tampa sempre manualmente. Nunca use ferramentas para este propósito, veja desenhos 2 e 3.Verifique a vedação entre a tampa e a carcaça depois de limpar e voltar a montar o filtro. Uma tampa vedada incorretamente resultará em ar aspirado pela bomba de água do motor, que novamente resultará em um superaquecimento do motor.

An improperly sealed lid will result in airsucked in by the sea water pump of theengine which again will result in overheat-ing of the engine.To prevent damage of the water strainer,during frost in the winter time, either thewater must be drained or the installationmust be filled with anti-freeze.Remove the hoses to drain the strainer; the
housing is not equipped with a drain plug.Take care that during filling with anti-freezeno anti-freeze is spilled into the waterway.Anti-freeze is poisonous.

Para evitar danos no filtro de água, durante a geada no horário de inverno, a água deve ser drenada ou a instalação deve ser preenchida com fluido anti-congelamento.Remova as mangueiras para drenar o filtro; a carcaça não está equipada com um bujão de drenagem. Tenha cuidado para que, durante o enchimento com anticongelante, não seja derramado em nenhuma via fluvial. O anticongelante é venenoso.
