MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Isaias Telhado & Giselle Cunha
My name is Isaias Telhado (Isaiah Roof) and I´m married with Giselle
Cunha. We have been happy members of this club since September 2012. We
moved to Phoenix in 2011 coming all the way down from Santos, which is a nice
beach city in São Paulo state, Brazil. While living in Brazil, I helped my brother in
some old cars restoration and could admire some muscle cars we had the opportunity
to work on it. He still has his 1979 Puma GTB S2, a glass fiber body chassis with an
in line 6 cylinder engine. It is a pretty fun drive.
My Mustang history started during one of my business trips to Phoenix back
in 2009. As someone passionate about cars, I was always admiring the nice vehicles
and diversity found here in the U.S. during these occasions. Still on these occasions,
during my free time driving around, Mustangs always caught my attention by their
desgin lines and the little something else that only Mustang fans can describe at their
own way.
I remember very clearly the day I´ve noticed this dealer´s big sales advertis-
ing listing a 2006 Mustang. I´ve decided to stop by and have a quick peek. At that
moment something inside my mind just clicked on this idea if I lived here, I would
like to own a Mustang, an iconic vehicle with lots of horsepower and history.

to meet the requirements. Further noted, Tim stated that it is imperative in future elections of officers that they are aware of this re-
quirement. The board further noted it would be the responsibility of the incoming board to make the decision whether the officer or
the club would take on the financial responsibility of the MCA membership.
Next order of business was a discussion on the details of the February 17 Pancake Breakfast. As noted the loose ends covered the
gathering of all equipment from the Martarano’s; George Maloley to determine the electrical situation of the location; Don and Dana

The discussion continued with many speaking of discontentment in the club, questioning why it was necessary to change
the By-Laws that had been in effect for 30 plus years. After a lengthy debate, Dan Martarano moved that the changes to

Member of the month Cont.
After moving to the U.S., couple of months later, I´ve decided to start my chase for a nice sport vehicle. I
did the test drive of the new Camaro versions, V6 and V8 both automatic. After a while still based on this test
drive experience I´ve rented a Camaro and this time drove it to the Grand Canyon. It was a good experience, but
something was still missing on that, I was still looking for something else.
It was on a sunny July´s weekend that the car finally found the driver. Passing by a dealer, I had laid my
eyes on that 2011 Red Candy Mustang GT, sitting there just waiting for me. So I´ve stopped and all the adventure
began. During the test drive, when I got inside and noticed the manual transmission, I said to myself, "well,
you´re looking for an automatic one, you´ve spent your life so far driving stick shift”; well, wrong assumption.
This is really the car that always puts a smile on your face. So in the very next day I was feeling just like a child,
waiting to get his new toy.
Since then, and after joining the club, it is being a great and pleasant ride. There is nothing like a Mustang
ride to make you feel better. If someone ask me about what the future holds, I would answer: Super Cobra ! Well,
this can be another story...Who knows ...
We really enjoy the car and the experience to get together with the club and participate on the events.
Thanks CMC !!!
