Ensino/Aprendizagem do Inglês no 1º ciclo do Ensino Básico

O Programa de Generalização do Ensino do Inglês no 1º ciclo teve por base o reconhecimento da importância dos seguintes factores:

1. A relevância da introdução da aprendizagem da Língua Inglesa enquanto língua de comunicação internacional por excelência e instrumento das novas tecnologias de informação.

2. O seu carácter essencial para a construção de uma consciência plurilingue e pluricultural de acordo com os princípios enunciados no Quadro Europeu Comum de Referência.

3. Os benefícios que decorrem do desenvolvimento de uma competência comunicativa em Inglês, no contexto da crescente mobilidade de pessoas no espaço da União Europeia.

4. O reconhecimento do seu contributo para a construção da cidadania.

De acordo com o que está preconizado no Programa de Generalização do Ensino de Inglês no 1º ciclo do Ensino Básico, o ensino desta Língua deverá ser norteado pelas seguintes finalidades:

Sensibilizar para a diversidade linguística e cultural. Promover o desenvolvimento da consciência da identidade linguística e cultural através do confronto com a língua estrangeira e a

cultura(s) por ela veiculada(s).

Fomentar uma relação positiva com a aprendizagem da língua. Fazer apreciar a língua enquanto veículo de interpretação e comunicação do/com o mundo que nos rodeia. Promover a educação para a comunicação, motivando para valores como o respeito pelo outro, a ajuda mútua, a solidariedade e a

cidadania. Contribuir para o desenvolvimento equilibrado de capacidades cognitivas, socioafectivas, culturais e psicomotoras da criança. Proporcionar experiências de aprendizagem significativas, diversificadas, integradoras e socializadoras. Favorecer atitudes de auto-confiança e de empenhamento no saber fazer. Estimular a capacidade de concentração e de memorização. Promover o desenvolvimento de estratégias de aprendizagem. Fomentar outras aprendizagens.

Embora as orientações programáticas definidas no documento supracitado visem exclusivamente o 3º e 4º anos de escolaridade, a iniciação do contacto e sensibilização à Língua Inglesa terá lugar, nas escolas básicas do 1º ciclo do Agrupamento D. António da Costa, já no 1º e 2º anos de escolaridade.A sensibilização e contacto com a língua Inglesa no 1º e 2º anos centrar-se-á na oralidade visando proporcionar a interiorização dos padrões fonológicos típicos da língua Inglesa (entoações e ritmos) e o desenvolvimento da capacidade de discriminação e imitação fonológica tendo em vista a produção de realizações linguísticas significativas.No 3º e 4º anos, embora continuando a centralizar a aprendizagem essencialmente no desenvolvimento da oralidade, a leitura e a escrita reforçarão e consolidarão a estrutura e o léxico da língua.Anexas seguem as planificações previstas para o 1º ciclo- 1º, 2º, 3º e 4º anos-no ano lectivo de 2006/2007. O 1º e 2º anos terão como manual respectivamente o “Zap A” e “Zap B” da Oxford University Press. O 3º e o 4º anos deverão utilizar o manual “Hello Kids!” da Texto Editora.A avaliação será essencialmente formativa e como o Programa de Generalização preconiza não poderá nunca “levar o aluno a sentir-se derrotado”. Anexas seguem as fichas de registo usadas nas escolas do agrupamento bem como a ficha de auto-avaliação (self-assessment) a usar pelos alunos. Esta só deverá, no entanto ser utilizada a partir do 3º ano.
