The souvenir sheet brings, at its top,two stamps. The rst stamp presentsthe image of a child, visually impaired,and the logo of Dorina NowillFoundation for the blind. On the

second stamp, one can see Dorinasface, in offset. Her image is drawn bythe technique of relief to enable theidentication by touch and to allowknowing her work beyond her voice.As the background image, in sepiatones, the reproduction of a pictureof Dorina Nowill, digitally crafted,reading a book in Braille. Bellow,it is possible to read a sentenceof her own, also written in Braille,which summarizes, in a concreteway, that her work in supporting the

H mais de seis dcadas a Fundao Dorina Nowill para Cegos tem sededicado incluso das pessoas com decincia visual, por meio do acesso educao e cultura.

Fundada em 11 de maro de 1946, a Fundao Dorina Nowill para Cegos hoje uma instituio reconhecida internacionalmente pela qualidade de seuslivros em braille, falados e digitais acessveis a pessoas com decincia visual,que so fornecidos para mais de 5.000 escolas, bibliotecas e organizaes detodo o Brasil, bem como pelos servios de reabilitao para pessoas cegas ecom baixa viso. Oferece, tambm, programas de clnica de viso subnormal,educao especial e empregabilidade.

A histria da Fundao Dorina comeou a se delinear quando Dorinade Gouva Nowill, cega aos 17 anos, sentiu a enorme carncia de obrasem braille no Brasil. Hoje, 65 anos depois do incio de suas atividades, a

instituio possui uma das maiores imprensas braille do mundo, emcapacidade produtiva.

H quem diga que nos ltimos 60 anos no h no Brasil uma s pessoacega alfabetizada que no tenha tido em suas mos pelo menos um livro embraille, produzido pela Fundao Dorina Nowill para Cegos.

Organizao sem ns lucrativos e de carter lantrpico, ao longo dosanos a Fundao Dorina Nowill para Cegos produziu mais de 6.000 ttulos e 2milhes de volumes impressos em braille. A instituio produziu, ainda, maisde 1.800 obras em udio e cerca de outros 1.000 ttulos digitais acessveis.Alm disto, mais de 17.000 pessoas foram atendidas nos servios de clnicade viso subnormal, reabilitao e educao especial.

So mais de seis dcadas de dedicao e de muitas realizaes. Tudoisso graas a doadores, voluntrios, amigos e patrocinadores que acreditamna misso da Fundao Dorina Nowill para Cegos, e fazem da instituiouma referncia no trabalho de incluso social das pessoas cegas e com baixaviso.

Por meio da Filatelia, os Correios assinalam e divulgam nesta emissopostal a importncia dos trabalhos desenvolvidos, visando a inclusoe a acessibilidade das pessoas cegas ou com pouca viso, bem comohomenageiam a Fundao Dorina Nowill para Cegos, exemplo de dedicao,conquista e perseverana no empreendimento de sua misso.

A ECT registra, tambm, os cinco anos da implantao do Servio PostalBraille, iniciativa pioneira entre as administraes postais, que realiza atranscrio de correspondncias, inclusive comerciais e de rgos pblicos,da escrita comum para o braille e vice-versa. A implantao da Central Brailledos Correios, sediada em Belo Horizonte/MG, responsvel pela execuodesse servio, que amplia o acesso dos cegos aos produtos de conveninciapostal, contou com o apoio tcnico de importantes instituies, inclusive dahomenageada Fundao Dorina Nowill.

Os Correios e a Fundao Dorina Nowill para Cegos tm em comumo compromisso com a incluso social e a valorizao das pessoas com

decincia visual. Geram cidadania ao contribuir para o reconhecimento e opleno exerccio dos direitos dos cidados.

For over six decades Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind has been

dedicated to the inclusion of visually impaired person, through access toeducation and culture.

Founded on March 11, 1946, Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind is now

na internationally recognized institution for the quality of their Braille books,

spoken and digital accessible to visually impaired person, which are providedto more than 5.000 schools, libraries and organizations throughout Brazil, as

well by the rehabilitation services for blind people and with low vision. It also

offers clinic programs for low vision, special education and employability.

The history of Dorina Foundation began to take shape when Dorina deGouva Nowill, blind at age 17, felt the enormous shortage of works in Braille

at Brazil. Today, 65 years after the beginning of its activities, the institution has

one of the major Braille presses in the world, in productive capacity.Some say that in the last 60 years there isnt in Brazil one blind person

literate who has not been in their hands at least one Braille book produced by

Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind.

Nonprot organization and with philanthropic character, over the years

Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind has produced more than 6.000 titlesand 2 million printed volumes in Braille. The institution, also, produces more

than 1.800 works in audio and about another 1.000 accessible digital titles. In

addition, more than 17.000 people were answered in clinical services for lowvision, rehabilitation and special education.

It has been more than six decades of dedication and many accomplishments.All this thanks to donors, volunteers, friends and sponsors who believe in the

mission of the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind and make the institutiona reference in the work for social inclusion of blind people and with low vision.

Through Philately, Correios mark and disseminate on this issue a

commemorative sheet the importance of the work done, aiming the inclusion

and accessibility of blind people or with low vision, as well honor DorinaNowill Foundation for the Blind, example of dedication, achievement and

perseverance in action of his mission.

ECT records, too, the ve years of implementation of the Braille Postal

Service, a pioneering initiative between postal administrations, which performsthe transcription of correspondence, including commercial and from public

agencies, from common writing to Braille and vice versa. The implementation

of Correios Braille Central, based in Belo Horizonte/MG, providing greater

access of blind to postal convenience products, had the technical support ofmajor institutions, including the honored Dorina Nowill Foundation.

Correios and Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind have in common

the commitment with social inclusion and appreciation of people with visualimpairments. Generate citizenship by contributing to the recognition and full
