This event provides six hours of approved training.

An additional 2 hours of training are provided through the add-on sessions.

In lieu of one keynote session, five training options

are available first thing in the morning to ensure participants a wide variety of options to fulfill their professional development needs and interests.

All sessions are approved through Achieve-

Minnesota Center for Professional Development and meet licensing training requirements.

The 2-hour licensing-required SUID/AHT training and

Active Supervision will be offered from 3:30 to 5:30 PM for an additional $15/each. See registration for details.

Group Rate of $75/each is available for groups of five

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Registration is $79 through Tuesday, March 26th, 2019.

The fee for registrations postmarked after March 26th and at the door of the event is $89.

Groups of 5 or more = $75/each. All registrations must be from the same organization, received together and paid for with one transaction.

Sessions are filled in the order that payments are received. Sessions fill quickly so please submit your reg-istration as soon as possible. On-line registration is quick & easy making it more likely to get into your pre-ferred session choices.

Training Hours/Certificates: Attendees will receive 6 hours of training. Following the event, Milestones will add your sessions to your learning record using your Develop ID number. Certificates can be created after the event on an “as-needed” basis and will be sent via email to those indi-cating they need one; however certificates will not be availa-ble the day of the event. Add-on session attendees will receive an additional two hours of training for a fee of $15/session (See registration form) Food: A light breakfast will be provided prior to the opening sessions. Lunch is a taco bar/taco salad bar, cookies, soda, or bottled water. If you have special dietary needs, please note them on the registration form or online, as this information is needed prior to the event. Child Policy: To ensure you and our other attendees get the most out of this event, please honor our “no-children” policy at this event. Please call if you have any questions regarding this policy.

This interactive workshop will provide an overview of the red flags for developmental delays in young children, how to share developmental concerns with families, and local referral resources. A5 Infants & Toddlers: Targeted Strategies to Build So-cial Emotional Skills. This 2-hour behavior guidance course will meet the licensed family child care annual training requirement. The objectives of the training are to help participants: use targeted strategies to intentionally build social emotional skills in infants and toddlers; iden-tify how to support parents in promoting routines; and learn how to promote emotional self-regulation skills in children this age. A6 In the Know: Fly, Fly Away, Monarch Butterflies in Child Care. Discover how raising monarch butterflies and study-ing their migration broadens children's view of their role in the world both close to home and far away. Learn the fun-damentals of how to integrate the raising Monarch butter-flies in your Child Care setting. Identify techniques for man-aging the raising of the monarchs, milkweed management (including DHS licensing criteria for poisonous plants), re-sources for lesson plans and tracking of the migration. Please note: The full migration window is approximately March through November which allows this topic to en-compass most of a calendar year for curriculum use!

A7 Preschoolers: Understanding and Preventing Challeng-ing Behaviors. This 2-hour behavior guidance course will meet the licensed family child care annual training require-ment. A main focus will be how to share concerns with parents in a respectful manner if red flags for developmen-tal concerns are present.

D1 Sudden Unexpected Infant Death/Abusive Head Trauma. This class meets DHS Licensing training requirements for both Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Abusive Head Trauma (AHT). Con-tent includes recommendations to reduce Sudden, Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUID) including SIDS, suffocation, and other sleep related infant deaths; safe sleep environments; MN Child Care regulations related to safe sleep; as well as symptoms and conse-quences of abusive head trauma, risk factors for abu-sive head trauma; strategies to use when stressed, angry or frustrated. D2 Active Supervision: Provider Self-Care and Privacy Meets the Family Child Care provider annual supervi-sion training requirement.
