Fighting for A Brighter Future The organsitation seeks to save a planet, a world of

life. Reconciling the needs of human beings and the needs of others that share the Earth, they seek to practice conservation that is humane in the broadest sense. Their main purpose is to instill in people everywhere a discriminating, yet unabashed, reverence for nature and to balance that reverence with a profound belief in human possibilities. From the smallest community to the largest multinational organization, they want to inspire others who can advance the cause of conservation.

Goal and Strategies• By 2020, WWF will conserve many of the

world’s most ecologically important regions by working in partnership with others to:

• Protect and restore species and their habitats

• Strengthen local communities' ability to conserve the natural resources they depend upon

• Transform markets and policies to reduce the impact of the production and consumption of commodities

• Ensure that the value of nature is reflected in decisions made by individuals, communities, governments and businesses

• Mobilize hundreds of millions of people to support conservation

• Saving wildlife is at the core of WWF’s mission. Why? Because animal populations are disappearing at an alarming rate. But even in the face of threats like poaching, habitat loss and overuse of natural resources, WWF is creating a better future for wildlife every day..

PROTECTING SPECIES Protecting species contributes to a thriving, healthy

planet. The organisation focuses its effort on those species

—like tigers, rhinos, whales and marine turtles—whose protection influences and supports the survival of other species or offers the opportunity to protect whole landscapes or marine areas. Protecting these species also contributes to a thriving, healthy planet for people’s health and well-being—from forests that slow climate change and filter water to oceans that provide more than one-sixth of the world’s food.
