RESUMO

Este projeto de pesquisa tem como objetivos principais a anlise de

fadiga em virabrequins leves submetidos a esforos de flexo e toro. Esta

anlise ser primeiramente realizada de forma numrica, atravs do

desenvolvimento de metodologia para implementao do mtodo dos

elementos finitos. Para realizar as simulaes, ser utilizada ferramenta

comercial de anlise, Ansys-Workbench.

Posteriormente, sero realizados ensaios experimentais de fadiga. Nesta

etapa, ser desenvolvido um aparato experimental adequado aos ensaios

dinmicos a serem realizados. Em seguida, prottipos dos virabrequins leves

sero fabricados por prototipagem rpida e em seguida montados e

instrumentados devidamente. Ento as anlises de fadiga sero realizadas

com o aparato experimental projetado e os resultados correlacionados com os

resultados obtidos numericamente.

Abstract

This research project has as main objectives the analysis of fatigue in

lightweight crankshafts subjected to bending and torsion loading. This analysis

will first be carried out numerically, through the development of a methodology

for implementation of the finite element method. To perform the simulations, it

will be used a commercial tool, Ansys Workbench.

Subsequently, experimental fatigue tests will be performed. At this stage,

an experimental test rig for dynamic tests of the crankshafts will be developed.

Then, lightweight crankshafts prototypes will be manufactured by rapid

prototyping and then assembled and properly instrumented. The experimental

fatigue tests will then be carried out using the designed test rig and the results

will be correlated with the results obtained numerically.
