Resumo
A presente unidade didática, cujo tema diz respeito a tecnologia
analisar a aplicabilidade do inglês instrumental utilizando a
internet como recurso didático pedagógico no processo ensino-
aprendizagem e preparar, capacitar e desenvolver no aluno a
apresentando as estratégias, despertando a criticidade e

Antecipação: encorajar os alunos a refletirem sobre o tema do texto antes de lê-los;
das figuras;
português;
por meio de dicas contextuais;
específica no texto;
de figuras;
Estudo do Layout: identificação de gêneros textuais;
orientador do aluno.
compreensão do texto.
linear do texto.
generalizar, transferir, construir e incorporar o novo aprendizado”.
diferentes gêneros textuais, contemplando o letramento, o multiletramento, a cultura brasileira
e o multiculturalismo.

Ler e compreender texto em língua inglesa;
Reconhecer as informações gerais e específicas de um texto;

traduzir todas as palavras.

Plant Trees and Protest Deforestation
By Chelsea Hedquist

This list has talked a lot about ways to cut down on undesirable CO2 emissions, but
what about proactive ways to put good things back into the atmosphere? One of the best
ways to do this is by planting trees, which is a favorite Earth Day activity. Trees play a
critical role in keeping our air clean, both by releasing oxygen into the air and by trapping
carbon. The more trees we have, the better our air quality, and that's why planting trees is an
excellent step to take toward saving the environment. While you're at it, plant a tree in a spot
that will give your house shade, as that will help reduce your need to crank up your air
conditioning in the summer months
It's also important to take a stand against deforestation. Losing large swaths of forest,
such as the rainforest, to development or industry means that we're losing millions of trees
that would otherwise be cleaning the air for us. Protesting deforestation, both through
activism and by refusing to buy products that are created at the expense of the world's forests,

In May the seafaring lesser noddies head for
land to breed. Their arrival on the tiny island
of Cousine in the Seychelles coincides with
peak web size for the red-legged golden orb-
web spiders. The female spiders, which can
grow to the size of a hand, create colossal
conjoined webs up to 1.5m in diameter in
which the tiny males gather. These are
woven from extremely strong silk and are
suspended up to six metres above the ground,
high enough to catch passing bats and birds,
though it’s flying insects that the spiders are
after. Noddies regularly fly into the webs.
Even if they struggle free the silk clogs up
their feathers so they can’t fly. This noddy
was exhausted, said Pretorius, 'totally still, its
fragile wing so fully stretched that I could
see every feather.'

Udayan camped near a nesting colony of
gharial crocodiles on the banks of the
Chambal River – two groups of them, each
with more than 100 hatchlings. Before
daybreak he crept down and hid behind rocks
beside the babies. 'I could hear them making
little grunting sounds,' said Udayan. 'Very
soon a large female surfaced near the shore,
checking on her charges. Some of the
hatchlings swam to her and climbed onto her
head.' She was the chief female of the group,
looking after all the hatchlings. Though he
saw a few more females and a male, they
never came close. Gharials were once found
in rivers all over the Indian subcontinent.
Today just 200 or so breeding adults remain
in 2% of the former range. 'The Chambal
river is the gharial’s last stronghold,’ said
Udayan, 'but is threatened by illegal sand-
mining and fishing'.

Ever since he first picked up a camera, Du
Toit has photographed African elephants.
'For many years I’ve wanted to create an

I’m with them. This image comes closest to
doing that.' The picture was taken at a
waterhole in Botswana’s Northern Tuli
Game Reserve, from a hide – in this case a
sunken freight container – that provided a

in a boat on the Three Brothers River in
Brazil’s Pantanal. So when the female jaguar
finally emerged from the undergrowth and
walked down to the river to drink, McDonald
was grateful for the photo opportunity. But
that was just a start. After slaking her thirst
the female flopped down on the sand. Then
the male appeared. After drinking and scent-
marking he approached the female, who was
lying in what appeared to be a pose of
enticement. At least that’s what both
McDonald and the male thought. She rose,
growled and suddenly charged, slamming the
male back as he reared up to avoid her
outstretched claws. His own claws were
sheathed. The pair then disappeared into the
undergrowth to resume their courtship,
leaving McDonald with a sense of awe and a
rare, winning image.

mensagem.

cognatos

every year, it leads to respiratory complications and other health problems and it makes our
rivers and lakes too polluted for us to swim in and drink. But factories are only part of the
problem of pollution. Pollution is caused by industrial and commercial waste, agriculture
practices, everyday human activities and most notably, modes of transportation. No matter
where you go and what you do, there are remnants of pollution
What is pollution?
Pollution is the introduction of a contaminant into the environment. It is created
mostly by human actions, but can also be a result of natural disasters. Pollution has a
detrimental effect on any living organism in an environment, making it virtually impossible
to sustain life.

Grammar...
Observe as
frases:
a) It is created mostly by human actions, but can also be a result of natural disasters.
b) Pollution is caused by industrial and commercial waste (…)
influenciar no entendimento do texto.

Reading Comprehension - Pollution and its Negative Effects
Develop your reading skills. Read the following text on pollution and its effect on the
environment. Then answer the comprehension questions
Pollution is the degradation of natural environment by external substances introduced
directly or indirectly. Human health, ecosystem quality and aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity may
be affected and altered permanently by pollution.
Pollution occurs when ecosystems can not get rid of substances introduced into the
environment. The critical threshold of its ability to naturally eliminate substances is compromised
and the balance of the ecosystem is broken.
The sources of pollution are numerous. The identification of these different pollutants and
their effects on ecosystems is complex. They can come from natural disasters or the result of human
activity, such as oil spills, chemical spills, nuclear accidents ... These can have terrible
consequences on people and the planet where they live: destruction of the biodiversity, increased
mortality of the human and animal species, destruction of natural habitat, damage caused to the
quality of soil, water and air ...
Preventing pollution and protecting the environment necessitate the application of the
principles of sustainable development. we have to consider to satisfy the needs of today without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. This means that we should
remedy existing pollution, but also anticipate and prevent future pollution sources in order protect
the environment and public health. Any environmental damage must be punishable by law, and
polluters should pay compensation for the damage caused to the environment.

Vamos ver como isso acontece?
<http://speakupidiomas.com/blog/2011/06/20/voz-passiva-passive-voice-em-ingles-sem-misterios>
a) The waste of the industries and commerce cause pollution. (O lixo das indústrias e do
comércio causam a poluição).
frase.
b) Pollution is caused by industrial and commercial waste. ( A poluição é causada pelo lixo das
indústrias e do comércio).
passado do verbo “to be” mais o particípio do verbo.
ativa Voz passiva Exemplos
Presente simples are/ is + particípio
Voz ativa: Bob writes letters. (Bob escreve cartas).
Voz Passiva: Letters are written by Bob. (Cartas são
escritas por Bob).

Passado was/were + being + verbo
no particípio Voz ativa: Bob was writing a letter. (Bob estava
contínuo escrevendo uma carta).
Voz passiva: A letter was being written by Bob. (Uma

Voz passiva: A letter is going to be written by Bob.
(Uma carta será escrita por Bob).
Obs.: Quando o sujeito da voz ativa for indeterminado (someone – alguém, people – pessoas), não

Voz ativa: Someone opened the gate. (Alguém abriu o portão).
Voz passiva: The gate was opened.

sociais. <http://pablovictortorres.blogspot.com.br/2009/06/o-surgimento-dos-blogs-e-suas.html> acesso em 05/11/2013
