Se pudéssemos entender a verdadeira filosofia de forma a entender a nossa própria criação e qual o propósito – que desígnio e intenção tinha o Governante Supremo na organização da matéria e em efectuá-la na forma que eu vos vejo hoje aqui, poderíamos compreender que a matéria não pode ser destruída – que é sujeita a organização e desorganização; e entenderíamos que a matéria pode ser organizada, receber inteligência, possuir mais inteligência, e continuar a aumentar em inteligência; e poderíamos aprender aqueles princípios que organizaram a matéria em animais, vegetais e em seres inteligentes; e poderíamos discernir a Divindande nas suas acções, operações e na difusão de princípios sobre a matéria para produzir seres inteligentes e para os exaltar – para quê? Felicidade. Irá algo menos do que isso satisfazer os espiritos implantados em nós? Não.

D & C 93: 29 O homem também estava no princípio com Deus. A inteligência, ou seja, a luz da verdade, não foi criada nem feita nem verdadeiramente pode sê-lo.30   Toda verdade é independente para agir por si mesma na esfera em que Deus a colocou, como também toda inteligência; caso contrário, não há existência.

DEUS também está sujeito às leis

Deus actua num universo com a lei de causa e efeito. Deus deve manter a confiança dos espiritos e inteligencias para ainda ser Deus. Ele deve ser um Deus. Ele deve ser completamente justo.

Deus deu a conhecer antigamente o poder pelo qual Ele é supremo sobre todas as inteligências que existem—o facto de que Ele é mais inteligente que todas as outras. Nos céus assim como na Terra é válido o aforismo de que conhecimento é Poder, desde que “conhecimento" signifique aplicação e não apenas a possessão mental da verdade. Numa revelação dada através de Joseph Smith o profeta, em 1833, o carácter da autoridade e poder divinos foi resumido de forma sublime: “A gória de Deus é inteligência." (D&C 93:36.)

DEUS ERA DEUS ERA MAISMAIS INTELIGENTE INTELIGENTE

A inteligencia que salva compreende saber e fazer o que é requerido pelo Evangelho de Cristo, e tal inteligencia irá perdurar para além da morte. “Qualquer princípio de inteligência que alcançarmos nesta vida, surgirá connosco na ressurreição. E se nesta vida uma pessoa, por sua diligência e obediência, adquirir mais conhecimento e inteligencia do que outra, ela terá tanto mais vantagem no mundo futuro." (130:18, 19.) Inteligência para coisas divinas, que estão resumidas no Evangelho de Jesus Cristo, levam a um sempre maior entendimento e compreensão do próprio Deus e este é o conhecimento supremo; pois como o Cristo afirmou: "E a vida eterna é esta: que te conheçam, a ti só, por único Deus verdadeiro, e a Jesus Cristo, a quem enviaste.”(João 17:3)

INTELIGÊNCIA QUE SALVAINTELIGÊNCIA QUE SALVA

O Profeta Joseph ensinou que os elementos físicos no Universo sempre existiram: “Os elementos são eternos”.

Na tradução [com respeito à criação] . . . A palavra ‘criada' deveria ser 'formada,' ou 'organizada.' " 2

Deus não criou o mundo do nada; foi organizado a partir de materiais e elementos já existentes. As escrituras não nos dizem qual a natureza e história destes elementos antes de terem sido organizados como parte desta terra, mas sabemos que Deus foi o poder pelo qual esta terra foi formada tal como é agora.

Joseph Smith ensinou que apesar dos elementos serem eternos, eles podem ser reorganizados: “Os princípios puros do elemento são princípios [ou componentes] que jamais poderão ser destruídos; podem ser organizados e reorganizados, mas não destruídos. Não tiveram princípio e não poderão ter fim."

Uma vez que todas as criaturas, plantas e árvores da terra foram criadas espiritualmente, entendemos que não só o homem ressuscitará mas todas as coisas viventes que passaram pela queda através da transgressão de Adão. (D. & C. 77:2.)

Brigham Young disse: “A inteligência contida numa pedra é qualitativamente, de certa forma, a mesma que é possuída pelo homem. Mas o homem está organizado de forma a que uma maior quantidade de inteligência, uma plenitude, é centrada nele e ele é consequentemente essencial e eternamente diferente da pedra.”Presidente Young também disse: “A vida que está em nós é uma parte de uma eternidade de vida e é espirito organizado, que é revestido de tabernáculos, constituindo assim o nosso presente ser, que está concebido para a obtenção de ainda mais inteligência. A matéria que compreende os nossos corpos e espíritos foi organizada a partir da eternidade da matéria que preenche a imensidão," (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 7:285, Brigham Young.) Uma inteligência menor não pode tornar-se uma inteligência superior excepto pela desorganização. Esta doutrina não permite a interpretação de que uma inteligência inferior, como a de um animal, possa um dia tornar-se na inteligência de um homem. “Permanece na esfera em que eu, Deus, a criei." (Livro de Moisés3:9.) O cavalo será sempre um cavalo, embora a inteligência do animal possa aumentar. Para fazer qualquer uma das partes constituintes de um animal, parte da inteligência de um homem, seria necessário desorganizar o animal para organizar os elementos em um homem e, portanto, começar de novo.

Joseph Smith antecipou-se à ciência na concepção moderna da vida: “Homens, animais e plantas, aqueles seres que possuem  vida mais elevada, diferem da chamada natureza inanimada, por um maior grau de organização. Esse é o dogma do "mormonismo" e a doutrina da ciência. Cerca de 1831 Joseph Smith deu esse conhecimento para o mundo, uma geração depois, os cientistas chegaram independentemente à mesma conclusão

Brigham Young comenta as afirmações em D & C 29, versículos 22-26: E também em verdade, em verdade vos digo que quando terminarem os mil anos e os homens novamente começarem a negar seu Deus, então pouparei a Terra, mas por pouco tempo;E virá o fim; e os céus e a Terra serão consumidos e passarão; e haverá um novo céu e uma nova Terra.Pois todas as coisas velhas passarão e todas as coisas tornar-se-ão novas, sim, o céu e a Terra e toda a sua plenitude, tanto homens como animais, as aves do céu e os peixes do mar;E nem um único fio de cabelo nem argueiro serão perdidos, pois são obra de minhas mãos.Mas eis que em verdade vos digo: Antes que passe a Terra, Miguel, meu arcanjo, soará sua trombeta e então todos os mortos despertarão, pois suas sepulturas serão abertas e eles surgirão—sim, todos. “Então aprendemos que esta terra mortal, como tudo que ela contém, está a envelhecer e eventualmente morrerá, será limpo e então se tornará num mundo celestial e tudo será restaurado à vida para não mais morrer. Isto não quer dizer, no entanto, que tudo o que estava nesta terra na mortalidade permanecerá na terra quando esta for purificada e receber a sua gloria celestial, sendo uma morada digna de seres celestiais, humanos, animais e plantas, de acordo com o decreto divino.”

25 E os Deuses organizaram a Terra para produzir as bestas segundo sua espécie e gado segundo sua espécie e todas as coisas que rastejam sobre a Terra segundo sua espécie; e os Deuses viram que eles obedeceriam.

Elder Hales disse aos missionários em Junho 2010: O dia perfeito é quando nos estivermos na presença de Deus e tiver-mos ganho luz suficiente para habitar na sua presença.

O Reino Celestial

D & C 132: 19 e passarão pelos anjos e pelos deuses ali colocados, rumo a sua exaltação e glória em todas as coisas, conforme selado sobre sua cabeça; glória essa que será uma plenitude e uma continuação das sementes para todo o sempre.

20. Então serão deuses, pois não terão fim; portanto serão de eternidade em eternidade, porque continuarão; então serão colocados sobre tudo, porque todas as coisas lhes serão sujeitas. Então serão deuses, porque terão todo o poder e os anjos lhes serão sujeitos.

God himself, finding he was in the midst of spirits and glory, because he was more intelligent, saw proper to institute laws whereby the rest could have a privilege to advance like himself. The relationship we have with God places us in a situation to advance in knowledge. He has power to institute laws to instruct the weaker intelligences, that they may be exalted with Himself, so that they might have one glory upon another, and all that knowledge, power, glory, and intelligence, which is requisite in order to save them in the world of spirits. 8

What did Jesus do? Why, I do the things I saw my Father do when worlds came rolling into existence. My Father worked out His kingdom with fear and trembling, and I must do the same; and when I get my kingdom, I shall present it to My Father, so that He may obtain kingdom upon kingdom, and it will exalt Him in glory. He will then take a higher exaltation, and I will take His place, and thereby become exalted myself. So that Jesus treads in the tracks of His Father, and inherits what God did before; and God is thus glorified and exalted in the salvation and exaltation of all His children. It is plain beyond disputation, and you thus learn some of the first principles of the gospel, about which so much hath been said.

When you climb up a ladder, you must begin at the bottom, and ascend step by step, until you arrive at the top; and so it is with the principles of the gospel—you must begin with the first, and go on until you learn all the principles of exaltation. But it will be a great while after you have passed through the veil before you will have learned them. It is not all to be comprehended in this world; it will be a great work to learn our salvation and exaltation even beyond the grave

Elohim (Eloheim) Plurality of God. Paul says there are Gods many and Lords many; and that makes a plurality of Gods, in spite of the whims of all men. Without a revelation, I am not going to give them the knowledge of the God of heaven. You know and I testify that Paul had no allusion to the heathen gods. I have it from God, and get over it if you can. I have a witness of the Holy Ghost, and a testimony that Paul had no allusion to the heathen gods in the text. I will show from the Hebrew Bible that I am correct, and the first word shows a plurality of Gods; and I want the apostates and learned men to come here and prove to the contrary, if they can.

An unlearned boy must give you a little Hebrew. Berosheit baurau Eloheim ait aushamayeen vehau auraits, rendered by King James' translators, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." I want to analyze the word Berosheit. Rosh, the head; Sheit, a grammatical termination; the Baith was not originally put there when the inspired man wrote it, but it has been since added by an old Jew. Baurau signifies to bring forth; Eloheim is from the word Eloi, God, in the singular number; and by adding the word heim, it renders it Gods. It read first, "In the beginning the head of the Gods brought forth the Gods," or, as others have translated it, "The head of the Gods called the Gods together." I want to show a little learning as well as other fools— A little learning is a dangerous thing. Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring, There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, And drinking largely sobers us up again. All this confusion among professed translators is for want of drinking another draught.

Now the learned priests and the people rage, and the heathen imagine a vain thing. If we pursue the Hebrew text further, it reads, "Berosheit baurau Eloheim ait aashamayeen vehau auraits"— "The head one of the Gods said, Let us make a man in our own image.“ I once asked a learned Jew, "If the Hebrew language compels us to render all words ending in heim in the plural, why not render the first Eloheim plural?" He replied, "That is the rule with few exceptions; but in this case it would ruin the Bible.“ He acknowledged I was right. I came here to investigate these things precisely as I believe them. Hear and judge for yourselves; and if you go away satisfied, well and good. In the very beginning the Bible shows there is a plurality of Gods beyond the power of refutation. It is a great subject I am dwelling on. The word Eloheim ought to be in the plural all the way through—Gods. The heads of the Gods appointed one God for us; and when you take {that} view of the subject, it sets one free to see all the beauty, holiness and perfection of the Gods. President Joseph F. Smith stated this truth very clearly in a discourse in the Ogden Tabernacle in the year 1913, summing up this whole matter:231Christ inherited his intelligence from his Father. There is a difference between knowledge and pure intelligence. Satan possesses knowledge, far more than we have, but he has not intelligence, or he would render obedience to the principles of truth and right. I know men who have knowledge, who understand the principles of the Gospel as well as you do, who are brilliant, but lack the essential qualification of pure intelligence. They will not accept and render obedience thereto. Pure intelligence comprises not only knowledge, but also the power to properly apply that knowledge.

In Section 50 of the Doctrine and Covenants I find a passage which has impressed me as much as any other passage of scripture. If this saying were the only truth revealed through the Prophet Joseph Smith, it would be sufficient to stamp him with the power of prophetic vision. It is one of the outstanding truths revealed for the salvation of man. It has been the means of helping me to be humble and to rejoice in the eternal truth of exaltation as that truth has been revealed. It has caused me to rejoice and thank the Lord for his mercy and goodness and for the hope of eternal life which has come to me. Here is what the Lord revealed:94And that which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness.94That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day. 8
