TORAH TAKEAWAY: Forgive and don?t forget! This week's parasha

may sound a bit familiar. After two whole parshiyot of very specif ic commands about how to make the mishkan, we now have two more that go through how the Jews listened to Hashem's every command. Couldn't the Torah have just said "The Jews did everything Hashem commanded?? Why all the repetit ion? In order to understand why we're repeating everything, we need to remember what happened in the middle of the instructions and this week: the sin of the Golden Calf . That sin was so great that HaShem was going to destroy the Jewish people. But Moshe stepped in and prayed for the Jews. Even though HaShem says that he forgave the Jews, we could understand if the Jews back then were very worried. "Maybe," they would think, "HaShem hasn't really forgiven us." These next two parshiyot show that even though the Jews sinned so badly, HaShem was generous enough to forgive them 100% . By repeating the same information as before chet HaEgel, HaShem shows that we are back to where we started. How great is HaShem that He is able to forgive our sins and continue to share a relationship with us!
