All carriers are factory adjusted so as to ensure complete expulsion of all amalgam

inside it when the button is depressed until it touches the regulating ring. However.

when necessary, the carrier may be regulated as follows.

1. Loosen the locking ring.

2. Turn the regulating ring either way until the face of the plug is flush with tip

opening and does not protrude.

3. Tighten the locking ring without moving the regulating ring until the two are

locked.

CLEANINGCLEANINGCLEANINGCLEANINGCLEANING

Always keep the carrier free of amalgam residue as

same may harm the carrier when i!t hardens.

To remove amalgam that is still plastic press the button repeatedly until all

residue is expelled from the inside of the tip.

If the residue has hardened heat the tip over a gentle flame until it is soft and

then press the button firmly until all residue is expelled. Be careful no to harm

the tip by overheating it. The hardened amalgam may lock the plug.

From time to time the carrier should be disassembled and all parts should be

cleaned whit a solft cloth. To disassemble and reassemble the carrier proceed

as follows.

Unscrew the tip. Completely loosen the locking and the regulating rings. Then

remove the plunger assembly.

Put together the plunger assembly and the spring as shown in the figure and insert

in the barrel. Screw the regulating ring onto the barrel while fully depressing the

button.

Slide the tip over the plug and screw it in place. Adjust the carrier as explained

above.

How to maintain correctly 10A-PF and Duflex 12 Amalgam Carriers

Afrouxe a contraporca que fixa o anel de regulagem em posição2. Gire o anel de regulagem para um lado ou para outro, de modo que ao sepressionar o botão, a extremidade do pistão fique exatamente na altura da saídada ponteira, sem ultrapassá-la.3. Sem mexer no anel de regulagem, aperte a contraporca até encostar no corpodo porta-amálgama, o que fixará o anel de regulagem na posição desejada

LIMPEZALIMPEZALIMPEZALIMPEZALIMPEZAMantenha o instrumento livre de restos de amálgama, porqueestes prejudicam o seu funcionamento.Para remover restos de amálgama em estado plástico, aperte o botão váriasvezes, até retirar das paredes da ponteira todo o resíduo.Se os restos de amálgama já estiverem endurecidos, aqueça a ponteira sobreuma chama branda, até amolecer o amálgama, pressionando o botão comfirmeza, até expulsar totalmente o amálgama. Tenha cuidado para nãoaquecer demais a ponteira a fim de não danificá-la. O amálgama endurecidopode prender o pistão.Periodicamente, o porta-amálgama deve ser desmontado e limpo, peça porpeça, com um pedaço de pano macio. Para desmontá-lo e montá-lo procedade acordo com as instruções seguintes.

1. Coloque na seringa endodôntica ML, de êmbolorosqueável para aplicação de Pasta Endodôntica,uma agulha descartável 27 G-LONGA, previamenterecurvada, quando for o caso, provida de tope deborracha (odontometria).

2. Desenrosque completamente o êmbolo.

3. Mantenha a seringa na posição vertical, introduzao tubete. Em seguida, empurre-o para a frente demodo que a agulha perfure a membrana deborracha do tubete.

AAAAATENÇÃO:TENÇÃO:TENÇÃO:TENÇÃO:TENÇÃO: Evite que a capa de alumínio bata naagulha fazendo-a entortar, prejudicando o fluxo domaterial e implicando na substituição desta.

4. Rosquei o êmbolo até encostá-lo levementeno pistão do tubete.

5. Lubrifique a luz da agulha com a glicerina estérilfornecida no kit, num tubete. Esse procedimentofavorecerá a passagem da pasta.

6. Retire o tubete com glicerina e coloque o deHidróxido de Cálcio com ParamonoclorofenolCanforado, tomando o cuidado em manter a seringana posição vertical.

7. Com a seringa na posição vertical, rosqueisuavemente o êmbolo no sentido horário até fluir apasta. Para não se exercer demasiada pressão e

piston for application of endodontic paste, a

disposable needle 27G-LONG, previously turned,

2. Untwist the position completely

3. Keep the syringe in a vertical position and insert the

tube. After, push it forward so that needle enter the

rubber membrane of the tube.

needle making it benb and damaging the flow of

material, implying in the replacement of it.

4. Twist the piston till slightly touches the piston of the

tube.

5. Lubricate the light of the needle with sterile gycerin

which comes in the set in a tube. This proceeding will

help the passage of the paste.

6. Take the tube with glycerin off and insert the one

with calcium hydroxide paste with camphorated

parachlorophenol, taking care in keeping in vertical

position.

7. With the syringe in vertical position, twist the piston

slighty in hour direction till the paste flows. Not to get

too much pressure and further overflowing of paste,

the twisting must be done gradually.

Note:If the paste doesnt`t flow, draw back the plunger

and the tube and then replace then correctly to the

initial position.

8. Untwist the piston till the paste stops flowing. Clean

the end of the needle with a sterilized gauze.

9. Return the piston until it touches, without pressure,

the rubber piston of the tube.

10. Take the needle into the root canals till the length of

the work and, then give a complete turn to the piston so

that the paste flows in the correct quantity with oscillating

movements trying to fulfil the root canal completely.

11. After filing the root canal, observing the refluxes of

paste, put a piece of absorbent sterile paper into pulp

cavity, andthen, seal the opening with a zinc oxide

basis and eugenol PPPPPulpo-Sanulpo-Sanulpo-Sanulpo-Sanulpo-San (S.S. White)

consequentemente extravasamento da pasta, orosqueamento deve ser executado gradualmente.OBS.: Caso a pasta não flua, recue o êmbolo e otubete e em seguida recoloque-os de volta àposição anterior.

8. Desenrosque o êmbolo até que a pasta deixe defluir. Limpe a ponta da agulha com uma gazeesterilizada.

10. Leve a agulha ao interior do canal radicular, até ocomprimento de trabalho e a seguir, dê uma voltacompleta no êmbolo, para que a pasta flua naquantidade desejada com movimentos de vaivém,procurando preencher totalmente o canal radicular.

11. Após o preenchimento do canal radicular,observado pelo refluxo da pasta, coloque umamecha de papel absorvente estéril na cavidadepulpar, e em seguida sele a abertura com cimento depresa rápida à base de óxido de zinco e eugenolPPPPPulpo-Sanulpo-Sanulpo-Sanulpo-Sanulpo-San (S.S. White).

Os instrumentos fabricados em aço inoxidável devem receber algunscuidados quanto à limpeza e esterilização. Essas são etapas fundamen-tais que, se conduzidas adequadamente, possibilitam o prolongamentoda vida útil do instrumento.

A limpeza tem como objetivo a remoção dos resíduos aderidos àsuperfície dos instrumentos e deve ser efetuada previamente àesterilização.

Assim sendo, imediatamente após o uso deve-se efetuar uma pré-lavagem para o amolecimento dos resíduos. Para tanto, estes devem sersubmersos em solução desinfetante, excetohipoclorito de sódio,devendo permanecer por um período de 20 minutos. Em seguida,promove-se a limpeza mecânica com auxílio de uma escova de náilon,sob água corrente, com detergente neutro.

Não devem ser utilizados produtos abrasivos, que favoreçam a corrosão.Após a limpeza os instrumentos devem ser bem enxaguados para a totalremoção da sunstância detergente e enxugados, evitando-se a secagemnatural ou durante a esterilização.

Por se tratar de um método que utiliza o vapor sob pressão, para umperfeito funcionamento, deve-se seguir rigorosamente as instruções dofabricante e somente utilizar água destilada. A água contendo clorodiminui a resistência à corrosão do aço inoxidável. Os instrumentosdevem ser devidamente acondicionados em envelopes próprios oucaixas metálicas perfuradas.

Em ambos os métodos o ciclo não deve ser interrompido e oarmazenamento do instrumental embalado é válido por uma semana emambiente fechado, limpo, seco e em temperatura abaixo de 250C.

GUIA PARA ESTERILIZAÇÃO DE INSTRUMENTOS

Stainless steel instruments should be submitted to some special

cleaning and sterelization methods. The steps to be followed will cause

the instruments to have long life.

The cleaning is meant to remove residues from the surface of the

instruments and it must be performed prior to sterelization.

After the instruments have been used, they should be pre-washed so

that the residues can be softened. After that, the instruments must be

kept in a disinfecting solution for 20 minutes. Then, brush the

instruments with a nylon brush under running water. Abrasive products

should not be used as they can cause corrosion.

After cleaning, wash the instruments and dry them completely. The

instruments should not be allowed to dry in a natural way nor in the

oven.

Chemical remainings or moisture are harmful to the instruments,

Heating is the sterelization method. Use dry heat in the oven at 170

degrees C., for one, hour, or humid heat in the autoclave at 122

degrees C., for fifteen minutes.

Special care must be taken, so that the instruments are not spoiled and

can go through an efficient sterelization process.

The instruments must be incased in boxes or proper metal trays, and

placed into a previously heated oven. Sterelization time counting must

be started only after the proper temperature has been reached.

Keeping the instruments for too long in the oven, that is, for more than

one hour, as well as overheating them, can cause loss of tempering or

cause the instruments to acquire a yellow color.

To work properly, the system utilizes steam under pressure.

Consequently, instructions by the manufactures, such as using distilled

water, must be duly followed. Water containing chlorine makes

stainless ateel less resistant to corrosion. The instruments must be duly

incased in proper envelopes or in perforated metal boxes.

No break should occur during the process of both methods.

After packed and kept in a closed, clean, and dry compartment, under

25 degrees C., the instruments will remain sterelized for a week only.

After that the whole process must be redone.
