Sometimes the cards just fall right for you. While we were putting together this issue of The Red Bulletin, our cover star, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, a relatively unassuming 19-year-old boy-man who just happens to be the most coveted young footballer on the planet, signed a much-improved contract extension that keeps him at the Brazilian club Santos FC until after the World Cup of 2014.

In three summers‟ time, that tournament will be held in Brazil, and if Neymar can lead his country to glory on home soil, then even the oligarchs and sheikhs and members‟ representatives at Europe‟s top clubs will be wincing as they flip the tops off their gold pens and open their chequebooks to try and sign him. É importante frisar que dentre as propostas realizadas no dia da Audiência Pública, destaca-se as ações apresentadas pela Câmara

Municipal de Nova Iguaçu que através da emenda parlamentar destinou 150.000,00 (cento e cinqüenta mil reais), para o atendimento

social e assistência, aos indivíduos em risco social decorrente da dependência química – CRACK. A emenda teve aprovação por parte dos

21 vereadores e foi sancionada pela Prefeita Sheila Gama. E a Casa do Menor que através de sua representante Priscila Souza

(Responsável pelos projetos da Instituição) apresentou sua proposta e a estrutura física, localizada em Tinguá, que desde 2007 atendeu

294 adolescentes usuários de substâncias psicoativas, em parceria com o Espaço Progredir e CAPS AD. Os atendidos são acompanhados

por Assistentes Sociais, Psicólogos e Técnicos em Enfermagem; E participam de atividades espirituais, laborterapia, musculação, oficinas

culturais e profissionalizantes, ferramentas importantíssimas para o seu processo de reabilitação.

“De alguma maneira, eu sempre acreditei que seria possível canalizar todas as idéias e sonhos do Padre Renato Chiera e

disponibilizá-las através de um projeto responsável e eficaz no trabalho de resgate de adolescentes e jovens usuários de drogas,

This is 39-year-old Swiss mountaineer Stephan Siegrist, who, with the help of equipment supplier Mammut, came up with idea of trying something different from his regular challenge of scaling an Alp. He’s also a bit of an extreme photography nut and enjoys being the subject of spectacular images, such as this. Still reckon it looks hairy? Not for Siegrist, who lives for the thrill of peaks such as the Cerro Torre in Patagonia or the north face of the Eiger. no auditório da Casa do Menor São Miguel Arcanjo, em

Miguel Couto, a festa em louvor as suas conquistas.

O evento contou com a presença de aproximadamente 150 mulheres da comunidade e funcionárias da

Instituição. E entre as homenageadas, destaca-se a senhora Benedicta Lage, atual gestora de Miguel Couto,

que foi agraciada e aplaudida de pé, por sua total dedicação ao trabalho da Casa do Menor, desde a sua

fundação.

“Parabéns, a você mulher que com o passar dos anos provou sua capacidade de liderar e assumir cargos,

antes exercidos pelos homens, com a mesma capacidade e com maior apreço! Você mulher Maria, que foi

agraciada de gerar a salvação do mundo, o menino Jesus. Parabéns, pelos seus 365 dias!” diz Padre Renato

No dia 22 de Março de 2012, aconteceu na filial da Casa do Menor em Rosa dos Ventos a festa de comemoração a seu 6º aniversário de

fundação. O evento contou com a presença da Srª Mônica da SEMED, Padre José Adilson, Malu (Suiça) e Peter (Alemanha) que se fizeram

presentes em oração, Irmã Rosa da Pastoral da Saúde, Representantes da Pastoral da Criança, Srª Lucimar do Colégio Municipal Dom

Adriano, moradores da comunidade e os seus atendidos - crianças, adolescentes e adultos - inseridos nos seguintes programas:

Profissionalização, Creche e Projeto Vida Nova.

Na Missa em celebração a missão da instituição, Padre André Silvino ao lado de Padre Renato Chiera, fundador da Casa do Menor,

ministraram ao público presente a essência dessa obra, que é ajudar aos mais necessitados.

“Estamos todos reunidos para relembrar as palavras que inspiraram o surgimento da Casa do Menor: “o que fizeste a um desses

pequeninos à mim o fizeste!”(Mateus 25:32-45). A nossa Instituição nasceu para gerar vida aos mais necessitados, acreditamos

que em cada rosto que sofre, encontramos a face de Jesus. Enfim, o nosso trabalho é um exercício de comunhão constante com

Cristo, e essa é a nossa maior motivação!” diz Padre Renato Chiera emocionado.

É importante ressaltar que, em 6 anos, o trabalho desenvolvido em Rosa dos Ventos registrou as seguintes conquistas: 800 alunos

formados pelos Cursos Profissionalizantes e cerca de 45%, desde quantitativo, inseridos no Mercado de Trabalho; 420 crianças atendidas

pela Creche; e 350 famílias atendidas pelo Projeto Vida Nova que atende pessoas com dificuldade na fala, na escrita e na aprendizagem.

podemos ficar de braços cruzados, a obra

tem que continuar. Devemos confiar no

perdão de Deus, em sua misericórdia,

colocar a mão na massa e fazer

acontecer! O dinheiro pode demorar a

chegar, mas nossas crianças não podem

ficar desamparadas.

Sobre o trabalho desenvolvido em Rosa dos Ventos

Creche

Atualmente, a creche funciona das 7:30 hs às 16:30 hs e realiza um trabalho de Educação Infantil. Na creche as crianças participam

de atividades, tais como: café da manhã, oficinas de recreação e, depois do almoço, o momento da soneca. Enfim, um trabalho

importantíssimo para o aprendizado das crianças e para o desenvolvimento das famílias.

Profissionalização

A Regional de Rosa dos Ventos oferece 75 vagas para os Cursos de Montagem e Manutenção e Operadores de Micro com turmas

voltadas para maiores de 30 anos. É importante salientar que esses cursos, também, acontecem com extensão em Cabuçu. E

Desenvolve os seus trabalhos junto a crianças, adolescentes e adultos que apresentam problemas de aprendizagem e na fala;

Através da equipe técnica composta por Fonoaudióloga e Psicopedagoga. Atualmente, o projeto atende 120 famílias da

comunidade e encaminhadas pelos Postos de Saúde e Conselhos Tutelares, um serviço que se tornou referência em nosso

Município.

influência cultural em Nova Iguaçu. E o nosso Centro Cultural, composto

por uma maravilhosa quadra poliesportiva, piscina e um grande palco

para apresentações teatrais, sempre estará aberto para apoiar e divulgar o

surgimento de novas manifestações culturais da comunidade e

START ’EM YOUNG My parents gave me my first pair of 1m-long skis for my third birthd ay, and later I gave them to my little brother Simen and my cousins for their first runs. As a kid I dreamed of being a professional or even World Champion one day, but that was never a big focus: I just wanted to ski faster than the other kids.

IS IT LOCAL? I don‟t follow a strict diet, I prefer to let

my feelings guide me about what‟s good for me and what my body needs. I prefer fresh food and local‟s best. I love sushi, salad and food that doesn‟t contain any kind of artificial flavourings. And I don‟t

really eat much fried food or candy.

FEAR AND SKIING IN AUSTRIA Every now and then the fear factor does kick in when I‟m about to start off on a run. Especially if I‟m not sure how to deal with the conditions,

the speed or other challenges in the course. The Kitzbühel event in Tyrol, Austria, is a typical race where you feel some fear.

GOOSEBUMPS A year after that horror crash I was back at the starting gate on the Birds of Prey

piste – and I was scared! But at the same time I really wanted to win. I could hardly

believe it when I swished to a halt at the end of the downhill and saw first position flash

up on the scoreboard. I won the Super G the next day too. I still get goosebumps now

when I think back to that weekend.

Cup, Artemyev continued his rich vein of form with a try in the next round against Ospreys to confirm his star quality and help establish the Russian international in the squad, with the Heineken Cup and Aviva Premiership battles to come.

His impeccable English will help him settle in Northampton, courtesy of a pragmatic family decision early last decade. Aretmyev‟s father, “a banker with a few businesses now”, chose Ireland for an English-language education for his son and Vasily,

already a keen player in Zelenograd near Moscow, stipulated that he attend a rugby-playing college.

They chose well and Artemyev was soon established in the junior cup squad at Dublin‟s pre-eminent rugby school, Blackrock College, where he played a starring role in Leinster‟s Junior Cup success in 2003. With future Ireland star Luke Fitzgerald on the opposite wing, two senior school cup medals followed as „Vasya‟ became one of the star under-age players of his generation.

A move to University College Dublin to study law led inevitably to a place in the Leinster Academy but, while Fitzgerald‟s career blossomed, Artemyev‟s progress slowed. The first blow came when, having played for Ireland as an Under-19, the IRB had rejected his place in the squad for the finals because his parents‟ primary residence was not in Ireland.

At college, he occasionally missed squad sessions to focus on his law studies and he was ultimately not offered a full contract with Leinster, which could have channelled him into a dual- citizenship application and the Ireland squad.

“Life in the academy was very demanding and sometimes I missed rugby training due to my studies,” he said. “I had to get my degree first.”

Instead, he moved back to Russia where he joined VVA-Podmoskovye, the main national feeder team playing in the Russian Professional Rugby League. He soon emerged as a star of IRB Sevens World Series before making his 15-man international breakthrough at the 2010 Churchill Cup.

A Russian international since 2009, he has already won 29 caps and amassed 50 international points, including a try against Ireland in the recent World Cup. Klevenhusen estiveram na Casa do Menor São Miguel Arcanjo, em Nova

Iguaçu, na Baixada Fluminense, para procederem à entrega do cheque

referente a arrecadação de mais uma Campanha Beleza do Bem, em prol do

Projeto Education For Life, que aconteceu em final de 2011, nos Salões de

Beleza filiados a Intercoiffure, por todo o país.

Recebidos pelo Padre Renato Chiera, Fundador e responsável pela entidade

e por sua equipe de colaboradores, Janine, Lincoln e Richard puderam

conferir de perto as inovações dos projetos da instituição, além de

conhecerem as novas turmas de alunos dos cursos de beleza criados pela

Casa do Menor, que a partir de agora contarão com um apoio maior da

L´Oréal.

Sobre a CAMPANHA: Esta 4ª Campanha “Beleza do Bem”, que objetiva

colaborar com a formação profissional de jovens carentes, capacitando-os

para encaminhamento no mercado de trabalho, foi realizada em mais de

beleza, filiados a Intercoiffure Brasil. Cerca de 2.500 profissionais,

de diversas regiões do país deram sua contribuição doando o valor

de pelo menos um serviço do seu dia de trabalho ao projeto,

enquanto os salões doaram parte de suas comissões. Somados às

contribuições espontâneas dos clientes dos salões, o total

arrecadado foi destinado primeiramente a Casa do Menor São

Miguel Arcanjo, do Rio de Janeiro e, outra parte, ao Projeto

Tesourinha, de São Paulo.

Sobre a CASA DO MENOR SÃO MIGUEL ARCANJO: A instituição

que se ocupa da preparação de jovens carentes há quase três

décadas, através de cursos profissionalizantes de diversas áreas,

destaca entre elas: de Cabeleireiro e de Manicure/Pedicure. O Curso

de Cabeleireiro se tornou referência na região com instalações

modernas e professores que além dos ensinamentos técnicos,

trabalham conceitos de cidadania, mostrando ao aluno a

importância dos direitos e deveres, tudo num ambiente familiar e

afetivo.Com a parceria da Intercoiffure Mondial desde 2004, a Casa

do Menor São Miguel Arcanjo formou profissionais que atualmente

estão no mercado de trabalho como funcionários e autônomos que

já montaram seu próprio salão de beleza. Graças aos excelentes

resultados obtidos a partir dos programas sociais desenvolvidos, a

Casa do Menor se expandiu.
